Our History
Over 20 years ago, the Church of the Holy Spirit (CHS) was planted in Kirstenhof with the mission to reconcile people to God and one another. The church moved into an old warehouse located at the intersection of poor and privileged suburbs. As the church grew, the vision for a new facility emerged: a community center that would serve CHS and the surrounding communities, bringing transformation to the lives of many. Embarking on a journey of faith, many people gave sacrificially of their time and finances to make the Life Centre a reality.
On January 15, 2023, the Centre hosted its first CHS church service, marking the start of a new chapter in the community's history.
The CHS Life Centre is more than just a venue - it's a hub for community involvement and growth. Our mission is to bring people together, regardless of their diversity, and work towards a healthier and more connected community. Spiritual. Celebrate faith, worship and prayer and to connect and support churches across denominations.
Enable people of all ages to be connected and encouraged, enjoy hospitality and be supported through need and crises.
Education: Resource learners & their leaders, and to provide non-mainstream support through tutoring and training, mentoring and life skills.
Support and equip individuals small businesses to communicate, meet, train collaborate. Create opportunities for unemployed.
Community. Support local governmental and non-governmental organisations in community development.
Creative Arts Enable and enhance creative development and experience across the arts, music and culture.
