A Hub for Unfiltered Motherhood and Access to Support
Motherhood is beautiful, messy, exhausting, overwhelming and yet rewarding—all at once. It’s a journey that no one should have to walk alone, and so many of us have felt extremely alone in our experience of motherhood. This need is huge, and we really recognise and resonate with the need mothers have, and would love to share some opportunities for the moms in our local communities to get involved in.
Moms need a space where they can be themselves, find much needed support, and build a community with fellow moms ‘in the trenches’ while their kids play, learn, and grow beautifully. This need is close to our hearts at the CHS Life Centre, and it’s with great pleasure that we know it’s a need we can easily provide for and fill within the safe space of our Life Centre community. A welcoming space where moms and kids can exist, unfiltered, and thrive together.
A Safe Place for Moms And A Playground for Kids
Life as a mom can often feel like a never-ending list of responsibilities—school drop-offs, grocery runs, work deadlines, and the elusive dream of a moment’s peace (and a hot beverage). Inside the walls of the Life Centre, and specifically too in the Table Café we are trying our best to provide a spot for you, moms, to check off your to-dos while your kids have fun and make friends in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment. Whether it’s an afternoon playdate, a coffee break with other moms, or a quiet moment to catch up on emails while your child rides their bike around our newly established bike track, we have a space designed with you in mind and would love your thoughts on how we can make it even better.
Some Of Our Values
It’s always nice to know that the moms you’re connecting with share a similar value system, heart/mindset to you. Here are some of the key aspects we’d love to highlight and share with you.
Unfiltered Motherhood: We know that motherhood is certainly not picture-perfect, and that’s okay. Social media lies to use often, and it can be too easy to set up an unrealistic expectation of what ‘motherhood’ is meant to look like. Here, you’ll find real connections with other moms who understand the joys and struggles of parenting, and who are settled in their unique experiences. Motherhood is like a tapestry, and we live in the process of making it beautiful, but we need spaces that acknowledge and accept us ‘as we are’.
Kid-Friendly Spaces: From the bike park to open green spaces, our facilities are built to let kids be kids! You’ll find puzzles, games, a mud kitchen, sandpit, and colouring in things in the Table Café and our goal is to continue to improve everything to make it as simple, easy and fun as possible for moms with children to enjoy.
Mom-Friendly Amenities: If you need a spot to answer emails, knock out some admin and enjoy a (hot) cup of coffee, or simply breathe? We’ve got you covered. There’s so much for the kids to do, and space for bigger kids to do their homework in peace, you’ll have what you need to oversee while taking what you need in peace.
A Supportive Community: Parenting is easier when you have a network of support. Whether you need advice, friendship, or just a moment of solidarity, CHS Life Centre is the place to find it. The Church of the Holy Spirit is also right there, with an incredible and strong community of diverse women, raising their kids in biblical principles. All you need to do is join us on a Sunday morning, make some new mom-friends (trust us, the moms at CHS are incredibly warm, welcoming and amazing).
Join a Mom Group or Start Your Own!
Whether you’re a first-time mom, a seasoned pro, or somewhere in between, finding your people is honestly non-negotiable. We need each other in these ever-changing child-rearing seasons. They’re beautiful and precious, and friendships with others in the same boat can make the journey all the more fulfilling. Perspective is a key thing we can glean from other moms… and those moments of “oh my gosh ME TOO!!!!”
At the Life Centre, we encourage moms’ groups to meet regularly in our comfortable and welcoming spaces. They’re perfect for you and your mom friends to share experiences, advice, and to have a good laugh (which can really be a healing experience!). From baby and toddler playgroups to mom meet-ups and wellness sessions, there’s always something happening and we would love for you to join in the fun and be part of making this space even more lovely for moms around.

Introducing ‘Mom’s Village’
We’re excited to welcome Mom’s Village—a group of diverse moms, united by faith, trying to figure out this thing called motherhood together. Their motto: “It takes a village to raise a mom” and we absolutely love it.
Meeting Details:
When: Thursday mornings, 10 AM - 12 PM
Where: CHS Life Centre, Classroom 2
Who: Moms with kids under 3, expecting moms, and those needing social time for little ones, adult conversation, and community.

Homework Sessions & After-School Chill Time
Afternoons can be tricky and at times they can feel never-ending. Kids are tired, likely hungry but still energetic and need lots of stimulation, homework needs to get done, and moms may also be in the space where they need a moment to catch up on some things. Why not make CHS Life Centre your after-school hangout spot?
There are a few fun ideas we’ve discussed like starting a study group with some other moms who have kids of similar ages. They can knock their homework out of the park before playing in the playground or using the bike track as a reward (don’t forget to bring their bikes along when you visit).
The Table Café is perfect for light lunches, snacks and something nice to drink. We are mindful of moms on a budget, and looking for possible ideas for how we can come alongside and support you. So if you have any ideas, please let us know!
Another Fun Way To Use Our Awesome Spot Is To Host a Birthday Party!
Planning a child’s birthday party takes time and sometimes all you need is a decent venue to host it. Having a bunch of kids at your own home might not be an option, or might just feel like a stretch for your family. Our Life Centre offers the perfect setting for stress-free, fun-filled birthday celebrations and if you need to, you can even set up a jumping castle! There are very few limitations here.

Braai Area: Gather friends and family for a relaxed outdoor celebration.
Jungle Gym & Toddler Section: A safe and exciting space for kids to play and explore.
Green Grass & Open Space: Let the kids run, play, and enjoy the fresh air! Nothing beats some rolley polleys with friends on the grass.
Catering Options: The Table Café can provide delicious food and drinks for your event.
